The department of electrical engineering and automation was established in 2002, which is the implementation major of the university-level outstanding engineer education. The department has a master's degree authorization point of agricultural electrification and automation. There are 15 faculty members, including 1 professors,7 associate professors. They have strong teaching ability with 4 special prizes in Yunnan provincial teachers' teaching skill competitions, and 8 special prizes in university teaching skill competitions. Professional training objectives is to cultivate senior engineering and technical talents who can be engaged in engineering design, system operation, automatic control, test analysis and construction management in electric power system and electric engineering basic industry and other related fields.
