The department of energy and power engineering was established in 2011, which is the first-class undergraduate major construction point of Yunnan province and has a master's degree authorization point of agrobiological environment and energy engineering. There are 14 faculty members, including 2 professors, 3 associate professors. At present, they have 3 research projects funds from National Natural Science Foundation of China and 5 funds from provincial governments, and one first prize of teaching achievement in Yunnan Province. This major aims to cultivate students with broad basic theories of power engineering and engineering thermophysics, professional knowledge in energy transformation and utilization in high efficiency, energy power equipment and system. Graduates  have strong practical ability and innovation ability that can be engaged in experimental research, development, design, manufacturing, installation, operation and management of energy and power engineering.
